THE MAIN DIRECTIONS OF RESEARCH ACTIVITY

RRCRM & HE is the head organization on 'Scientific Provision  of Medical Problems Solution of the Chernobyl Accident Consequences' the State program on overcoming consequences of the Chernobyl accident and provides the activity directed on coordination and increase of scientific research efficiency in Belarus  on the specified problem.

The basic directions of the research work are devoted to complex studying of medical consequences of the Chernobyl accident and include the following directions:

  1. Monitoring of health status of  population exposed to negative impact  of environment,  and radiation factors due to the Chernobyl accident;
  2. Scientific provision  of prophylactic medical examination of the Chernobyl-affected population of Belarus and ensuring  of continuity on rendering  the specialized medical aid;
  3.  Assessment of environmental , anthropogenic and man-caused  factors   impact on Belarusian population health, implementation of   long-term radiation epidemiological studies for revealing and prediction of the remote radiation effects; Providing scientific ground for formation of risk groups among the population exposed to anthropogenic and man-caused impact of environmental factors taking into account  profile registries data;
  4. Scientific and technical provision of profile registries functioning: the State Registry of the Chernobyl-affected population , the Dosimetry Registry  and the Uniform Chernobyl Registry  of Russia and Belarus;
  5. Estimation and reconstruction of exposure doses of the Chernobyl-affected population;
  6. Providing of scientific researches on studying pathogenesis issues, clinics, diagnostics, treatment, prevention, medical rehabilitation of diseases and states caused by influence of various anthropogenic , man-caused factors of the environment on the basis of a principle of demonstrative medicine with use of present-day techniques and medical technologies;
  7.  Elaboration and implementation of current  methods of molecular-genetic testing of hereditary predisposition to various diseases, including oncological ones , and also improvement  of early diagnostics methods of diseases caused by genic mutations;
  8. Scientific and technical, analytical and information provision  of activity of the organizations and institutions of Belarus  on problems of radiation and ecological medicine;
  9. Coordination of scientific research in the field of radiation and ecological medicine in Belarus, international cooperation, expert and referent activity at the international level.
