The Republican Research Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology is the only one medical - diagnostic institution in Belarus where we can observe the combination of out-patient - consultative and stationary specialized endocrinology care with scientific provision using state-of-the-art equipment and the newest diagnostic facilities.

REGULATIONS ON REFERRAL OF PATIENTS TO THE ENDOCRINOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF RRCRM & HE Referring to the Endocrinology Department is provided by endocrinologist according to prerecord after consultation or after consideration of the submitted medical documents. You should send the documents for consideration by mail or by fax addressing to the deputy director on medical issues by the following phone: (+375 232 37 80 97), or to the Head of the Endocrinology Department. The question on necessity and date of hospitalization is solved within 2-5 days after reception of the documents. In special cases it is possible coordination of hospitalization by endocrinologist referring the patient with the Head of the Endocrinology Department by the following phone: (+375 232 38 99 18). HOW TO GET CONSULTATION FROM THE ENDOCRINOLOGIST Each patient can obtain paid outpatient consultation by endocrinologist. There are no special requirements for it; you should have only your passport for filling in the agreement. Consultations are available at the day of addressing in the department of paid services or by prerecord on the following phone (0232)38-96-82 . THE CATEGORIES OF PATIENTS RECEIVING RRCRM & HE provides medical free-of-charge care to the citizens of the Republic of Belarus (children and adults) referred by endocrinologists from Belarusian medical institutions for consultation / hospitalization. The priority is given to the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident consequences residing in the areas contaminated by radionuclides. Foreign citizens can obtain paid medical aid. INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS ON ENDOCRINE DISEASES
Patients with diabetes, adults and children can receive total necessary consultative and medical help in the Center. Children with diabetes, their parents, grandmothers and grandfathers will learn how to compose a diet and physical burdens in view of age, will receive help on choosing the profession, will know how to determine insulin dose, and will be trained the techniques of glycemia level self-checking. Patients with cardiovascular complications of diabetes - ischemic heart disease, hypertonic disease and other forms of cardiovascular pathology can receive qualified help here. Today we are able to save patients from mutilating amputations of fingers, feet, legs. The lower extremities of patients are examined with the help of ultrasonic and laser dopplerography including treatment of feet and shins trophic ulcers using current medicines, dressing means; we can train people how to correct the legs care. For the first time in Belarus we start using the most intensive methods of insulin therapy (insulin pomp) and daily glycemia monitoring (288 glycemia analyses per day) that allows calculating precisely the insulin dose with the minimal hypoglycemia risk. At School of Diabetes, using training programs, our doctors will train patients of different age how to compose a diet, to provide insulin therapy and self-control at diabetes preventing complications, to decrease weight choosing complex of physical exercises. The experts - endocrinologists together with obstetrician-gynecologists will give the recommendation on family creation at diabetes; will correct the course of pregnancy at diabetes.
RRCRM & HE provides up-to-date diagnostics and treatment of thyrotoxicosis, hypothyroidism, endocrine ophthalmopathy, nodular goiter, thyroiditis, parathyroid and adrenal glands diseases. You can undergo ultrasonic investigation, define hormones level in blood, and accomplish a puncture biopsy of thyroid nodules to exclude oncological diseases. The well equipped surgical department provides operative treatment of thyroid diseases. Such hi-tech examinations as computer, X-ray and magnetic resonant tomography are available for patients at suspicion of adrenal glands and pancreas tumors.
RRCRM & HE provides diagnostics of such rare diseases as hormone-active and inactive hypophysis tumors, acromegalia, giantism, hyperprolactinemia, Itsenko-Cushing syndrome and disease, etc. Available methods of diagnostics (magnetic resonant tomography, laboratory investigation, performing of special tests) allow diagnosing the cause of dwarfism, disorders in hypophysis hormones making.
Osteoporosis is a widespread disease resulting in fractures. The Center can perform early diagnostics, treatment and prevention of osteoporosis at people of various age (juvenile, postmenopausal) developing at various endocrine system diseases, gastro-intestinal tract diseases, etc. The present-day equipment (densitometer) defines the stages of osteoporosis and the doctors provide individual therapy with application of the most effective medical drugs.
