The department includes 30 beds and provides specialized care for liquidators and the Chernobyl-affected population with heavy clinical demonstrations of therapeutic diseases which can’t be cured by methods of treatment under out-patient and stationary conditions. Differential and specific diagnostics at patients with the unstated diagnosis is carried out too.

The Indications for Hospitalization to the Department are the following:

• Essential hypertension  including complicated (malignant, crisis ) states, refractor forms, with heart, kidneys,  brain involvements and manifestation of  chronic cardiac insufficiency;
• Secondary (symptomatic) arterial hypertension;
• Stable angina of  pressure, angiospastic stenocardia;
• Chronic atherosclerotic and postinfarction cardiosclerosis  with rhythm and  blood circulation disorders;
• Cardiac  rhythm and conductivity disorders except acute  ones (fibrillation and atrial flutter ,supraventricular  and high gradation ventricular extrasystole  , other disorders of cardiac rhythm);

• Cardiac  insufficiency (newly-revealed at inefficiency of out-patient treatment, refractor to spent therapy); the specified rheumatic diseases  at increase of heart disease decompensation;
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;  bronchial asthma;
• Stomach ulcer, duodenum; gastroesoesopfagel refluxed disease.

 The department closely cooperates with the other divisions of the Center:

• Medical Rehabilitation Department;
• Hyperbaric Oxygenation;
• Hemocorrection and Transfusiology.

Current methods of diagnostics are widely used:

• Daily EKG  monitoring by Holter, EchoKG;
• Daily arterial pressure monitoring;
• Ultrasonic examination of abdominal cavity organs, kidneys, adrenal glands,  thyroid gland, brachiocephal  vessels, lower extremities vessels;
• Radiological (radiography, rontgenoscopy), computer tomography, magnetic resonance  tomography;
• Fibrogastroduonescopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, spirography.

The highly effective method of efferent therapy is used at the following diseases:

• At patients with  cardiovascular pathology and lipidic exchange disorders;
• At patients with system diseases (atrophic arthritis, podagra, system lupus erythematosus).

The application of the given technique alongside with medicamentous therapy and physiotherapeutic treatment promotes significant reducing in activity of inflammatory manifestations and improvement of clinical status of patients.
The patients of the department have an opportunity to receive hi-tech medical care and present-day hypotensive, anti-ischemic, anti-rhythmic, cerebroangioregulating therapy including help for patients with diseases of bronchopulmonary, digestive and osteoarticular systems.
