Preparation for colonoscopy:
For thorough examination bowels must be empty. That’s why tree days prior to the examination don’t eat vegetable food (carrots, cabbage, apples, etc.). Don’t eat anything the day before the examination.
Bowels can be opened in two ways:
In the morning of the day before the examination it’s necessary to take laxative – 50 g of magnesium sulphate (dissolve in half a glass of boiled water). The same day it’s necessary to make two cleansing enemas in the morning and two cleansing enemas in the evening (with Esmarch’s irrigator 2 liters in volume each with the interval of 1-2 hours). In the morning of the examination day as well with the interval of one hour it’s necessary to repeat the enemas until wash waters are clean.
Buy 3 packs of Fortrans preparation at the chemist’s. The contents of the packs dissolve in boiled water (1 pack per 1 liter of water). Drink 1 glass of the solution every 20 minutes on the day before the examination from 12:00 p.m. Pay attention: if your body weight is more than 70 kg or you have a tendency to constipation, it’s necessary to drink 4 packs of Fortrans!
In the morning of the examination day it’s necessary to take a shower.
