Hematology

Hematology is a branch of medicine that studies the structure and functions of blood and blood-forming organs, causes and mechanisms of blood diseases. It uses different methods of their diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Blood diseases conditionally divide into non- malignant and malignant (oncohematology). The main groups of non-malignant diseases are various types of anemia, diseases of leukocytes and platelets, hemorrhagic diseases, vasculitis, reactive lymphadenopathy, leukemoid reactions. Malignant diseases of the blood or hemoblastosis include acute leukemia, chronic myeloleukemia, lymphoma, and histiocytosis.

Hematologic Service Center includes children's and adult hematologists at the Therapeutics department of the consultative polyclinic and hospital care at the Hematology Department for Children (30 beds) and Hematology Department for Adults (60 beds).

The Center is equipped with first-class medical facilities, up-to-date clinicodiagnostic laboratory, has highly skilled hematologists who can help to identify in the shortest time the cause of disease and treat successfully diseases of blood.

The Center renders medical services in the field of diagnostics and treatment to patients with the following diseases:

  • acute and chronic leukemias;
  • malignant lymphomas, including lymphogranulomatosis;
  • malignant histiocytosis;
  • hereditary and acquired anemias;
  • hemopoiesis depressions: hypoplastic anemias, agranulocytosis, etc.;
  • hemorrhagic diatheses: hereditary, including hemophilia and acquired;
  • storage diseases: Gaucher's disease, Niemann-Pick disease, etc.;
  • reactive states of hematopoietic and lymphatic systems;
  • acute vascular purpura.

  • analysis of blood film, bone marrow, lymph nodes imprints, histological specimens;
