Invitation to cooperation

Republican Research Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology invites to cooperation in the scientific and practical sphere.

The specialists of the Center have been conducting research work on applied and fundamental problems of radiation medicine and human ecology for 20 years, aimed at maintaining and improving the health of people exposed to ionizing radiation as a result of the Chernobyl accident, a large array of unique data on the state of population health has been accumulated.

Research areas:

  • assessment of clinical disorders resulting from exposure to adverse environmental;
  • development of new methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases;
  • study of the relationship of mutational events in somatic cells of an organism with the appearance of various pathologies;
  • development and introduction of new molecular genetic methods for assessing the predisposition to various oncological diseases;
  • radiation-epidemiological analysis of the risk of developing oncological and non-oncological diseases in people affected due to the Chernobyl accident; monitoring the incidence of the most significant classes of diseases;
  • long-term study of thyroid diseases in children of Belarus for the subsequent determination of the risk of developing radiation-induced malignant neoplasms and non-cancerous diseases of the thyroid gland.
  • study of patterns of formation of internal doses of the population exposed to radiation.

On the basis of the Center, the State Chernobyl Registry of persons exposed to radiation as a result of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant other radiation accidents and the State Dosimetry Registry, which includes exposure doses to personnel under normal operation conditions of man-made sources of ionizing radiation, operate; exposure doses to population received during medical procedures for the diagnosis and/or treatment of a disease; exposure doses of the population residing in the territories of radioactive contamination (according to the results of WBC measurements).

We offer scientific and practical cooperation with health institutions, scientific organizations, medical universities in the following areas:

  • exchange of information on modern diagnostics, treatment and prevention of diseases;
  • organization and participation in joint symposiums, conferences, seminars;
  • Publication of scientific articles in the journal of the RRCRM&HE   “Medical and biological problems of life”.
  • discussion of joint scientific researches in the field of immunology, biomarkers and personalized medical care in hematology, oncology, cardiology, infectology;
  • search and assessement of the clinical significance of genetic markers (oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, etc.). Development of interdisciplinary genetic research and technologies.
