Hemocorrection Department

In clinical practice, the term "extracorporeal hemocorrection" is widely recognized. This refers to a transfusion procedure designed to specifically alter the cellular, protein, electrolyte, and gas composition of blood through processing outside the body. Additionally, the term "efferent therapy" is often encountered in the literature. This combines a range of methods aimed at reducing the toxicity of the body's internal environment and removing pathological complexes, such as circulating immune complexes, myoglobin, and formed elements of blood in hematological disorders. The removal of these pathological complexes, along with the correction and maintenance of homeostasis, can be achieved through various traditional techniques or modern physical and technical systems.

RRCRM&HE features a specialized department for Hemocorrection and Hyperbaric Oxygenation, equipped with advanced technology to perform efferent therapy for patients experiencing acute liver and kidney failure from various causes, as well as those with sepsis, systemic connective tissue diseases, and hematological disorders. The department houses devices for hemosorption, hemodialysis, plasmapheresis, hyperbaric systems, and more.

Highly qualified medical specialists and experienced nurses work in this department. The use of extracorporeal blood purification methods, in conjunction with other treatment modalities, enables rapid improvement in patient conditions and facilitates their recovery.

The following methods are successfully employed in the department: • therapeutic plasmapheresis
• hemodialysis
• extracorporeal photochemotherapy (photopheresis)
• hyperbaric oxygenation
